Peas with carrots in red sauce (Αρακάς με καρότα)


This is an easy meal and also a very tasty vegetarian option. Recipe is for 4 servings




Ingredients:

900gr peas (petit pois)
3 carrots, cut in chunks
250ml Passata
1 onion, chopped fine
1 ladle of olive oil
Salt and Pepper

Preparation:

You add the olive oil with the peas in the pan and stir. Then add the carrots and the onion and stir again. Finally add 1 spoonful of salt and ½ teaspoon pepper as well as the passata and stir again. If you are using a pressure cooker, then it needs 5 minutes of cooking. If you are using a normal pot, then add ½ cup of water in the mix and it needs 30 minutes on a low heat or until all the water is evaporated.
It goes well served with some rice or on its’ own.
